How to Dress Up the Track Pant Trend

I seriously want to be best friends with whoever in the fashion industry decided, "Yeah, I'm going to make track pants in style again." And not just in style, but they made it socially acceptable to dress up track pants and make them wearable for work. WHOEVER YOU ARE, YOU ARE A GENIUS AND I LOVE YOU!!!

Now, I feel like I can't even open Instagram without seeing girls who look way cooler than I ever could, rocking the track pant trend. I needed them! After perusing several websites, I found a couple different colors and styles I wanted to try.

A few keys, when picking the right pant that's wearable for work:

1. Find a track pant style that is either more fitted, or tapered in the ankle. For me, I found the wider leg pants veered on the more casual side and looked odd when pairing with heels or boots.

2. Material matters! It's easy to dress up leather, satin or even a nice poly blend track pant, but cotton track pants or ones with drawstrings as opposed to zippers look less formal.

3. Stay away from logos on the pants if you plan to wear them to work. I'm all about Nike and Adidas, but your coworkers will probably call you out for wearing gym clothes to the office.

The second I tried on these red, fitted track pants from Lovers + Friends, I immediately wanted them in every color! The back zip and streamlined leg, instantly made them more formal. And pairing them with heels and a long sleeve mesh top allowed the outfit to be both fun AND stylish. I am in love with how comfy I felt all day! It seriously felt like I was getting away with wearing PJs to work. Excuse me while I go buy more of these...
